My passion for education, innovation, and community collaboration drives my work with natural dyes. As an avid gardener I curate the dye garden at Northfork53 Farm in Nehelem, OR and I am the founder of the NorthCoast Indigofest and the global platform Indigo Pigment Extraction Methods on Facebook. I also teach natural dye workshops in the Pacific NW with a focus on seed to pigment processes.

Hailing from the world of academia, I am a faculty member at Kansas State University where I teach courses in Fashion Studies. Over the last eight years I have been researching, teaching, and designing with natural dyes and have enjoyed meeting people in the natural dye community. Besides working on the Natural Dye Podcast I am also producing a documentary film on natural dyes that I am excited to share with you in the near future.
